Job summary

Allen Control Systems is seeking a Computer Vision & Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead the CV/ML team behind an autonomous gun turret. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic leadership to drive real-time drone detection, tracking, and classification.

You will partner with the Chief Engineers and VP of AI to define the CV/ML roadmap, translate product goals into team plans, and scale the team as the prototype becomes a military-grade system.

Qualifications

• Requires deep expertise in machine-learning based computer vision and signal processing, with robotics context preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field with strong ML/vision focus.
• Experience managing CV/ML engineers and growing a team.
• Proven ownership of a technical roadmap for perception/autonomy products.
• Proficiency in Python and C++, plus ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch; embedded systems experience preferred.
• Experience with edge hardware and multi-sensor fusion across modalities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a CV/ML team: lead engineers, hire across levels, develop careers and skills.
• Partner with Chief Engineers and VP of AI to define CV/ML roadmap and execute within the team.
• Translate product goals into quarterly team plans, priorities, and staffing decisions.
• Contribute to development and optimization of CV algorithms for real-time drone detection, tracking, and classification.
• Own delivery commitments for the CV/ML stack, coordinating milestones with electrical and hardware teams.
• Drive engineering quality through design reviews, testing, and validation across conditions.
