Job description

Responsible for coordination of the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of complex and high-risk shipments. These shipments are identified as complex and high risk due to regulatory requirements and tariff combinations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide impeccable customer service.
  2. Engage with customers regarding commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce the risk of liquidated damages and penalties through classification and proper duty preference applications.
  3. Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs authorities.
  4. Process and data entry of import documentation for submission to US Customs and all Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
  5. Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  6. Adhere to all international import and export regulations.
  7. Collaborate with internal staff, departments, other FedEx OpCos, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-level service.
  8. Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings.
  9. Perform entry reconciliations and reviews as needed.
  10. Follow up on Customs matters and resolve issues.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of brokerage experience required.
  • One year of customer contact experience required.
  • Data entry/keyboard experience required.
  • CCS and/or Broker's license preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work independently.
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules required.
Additional Details:

Shift: Mon/Fri 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; Tues/Wed/Thurs 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (In-office location).

Pay Range: $13.28 - $24.51
