Job description

Responsible for coordination of the documentation required by US Customs / Government Agencies for entry of complex and high-risk shipments. These shipments are identified as complex due to regulatory requirements and tariff combinations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage with customers regarding commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce risks of liquidated damages and penalties through proper classification and duty preference applications.
  2. Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs resources.
  3. Data entry and processing of import documentation for submission to US Customs and all PGA's (Participating Government Agencies).
  4. Maintain and update all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  5. Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
  6. Collaborate with internal staff, departments, other FedEx OpCo's, customers, and government agencies to ensure high service levels.
  7. Process agency brokerage shipments.
  8. Perform entry reconciliations as needed.
  9. Follow all government and organizational policies.
  10. Follow up on Customs matters and resolve issues.
  11. Perform entry reviews as needed.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Paid training provided.
  • Minimum one (1) year brokerage experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year customer contact experience.
  • Data entry / keyboard experience.
  • MS Office, Outlook, and Office equipment proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes and time-sensitive work independently.
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules.
  • Preferred: CCS and/or Broker's license.
Work Schedule & Compensation:

Shift: Mon/Fri 7:00 am - 4:00 pm and Tues/Wed/Thu 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, in-office at specified locations.

Pay Range: $13.28 - $24.51 per hour.
