Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, international business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in customs operations or customs brokerage.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
• Experience working with customs officials, brokers, and other stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of import and export processes and documentation requirements.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures in the operating region.
• Experience with the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system.
• Familiarity with NAFTA, CAFTA, and TPP trade agreements.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
• Fluent in English, verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with customs-related software and systems such as ACE and CustomsLink is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the company’s customs operations and ensure compliance with customs regulations and procedures.
• Lead and manage a team of customs specialists, providing guidance, support, and training.
• Process customs entries and clearances for import and export shipments.
• Monitor timely processing of customs entries to avoid delays or penalties.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customs officials, brokers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure customs-related documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
• Provide customer service and address customs-related client concerns and questions.
• Conduct regular audits, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current on customs regulations, laws, and procedures and train the team on changes.
• Manage a team of customs specialists.
