Qualifications

• J.D. and active U.S. bar membership or ability to practice as in-house counsel.
• Approximately 4+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Meaningful, hands-on experience with U.S. customs laws and regulations.
• Law firm, government, and/or in-house experience.
• Experience with CBP, tariffs and duties, duty drawback, tariff classification, customs valuation, FTZs, FTAs, rules of origin, or similar customs matters.
• Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or global supply-chain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on U.S. customs matters, including tariffs and duties, tariff classification, customs valuation, duty drawback, free trade zones, free trade agreements, and rules of origin
• Counsel business teams on import/export procedures and changing customs regulations
• Advise on CBP inquiries and other customs-related matters
• Develop and improve practical customs compliance policies and procedures
• Partner with trade, logistics, tax, commercial, and legal teams across the organization
• Translate complex regulatory developments into practical guidance for business leaders
