Job summary

University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia seeks a Senior Curriculum Developer to design, develop, deploy and revise educational content for the Community for Rigor (C4R). You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to empower scientists through rigorous, inclusive pedagogy.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and ability to travel for outreach and testing. A master’s degree plus 3+ years in higher-ed teaching is required, with NIH‑funded project experience

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience teaching in a higher‑education setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Awareness of rigor and reproducibility issues in biomedical sciences.
• Familiarity with evidence‑based pedagogy and instructional design.
• Empathy with the learner audience and meeting them where they're at.
• Strong writing and documentation skills, including providing written feedback and updating internal knowledge base documents.
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio/visual scripts, etc.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside subject matter experts and educators to create engaging and effective educational content.
• Contribute to shared projects, provide feedback on design and user experience of web-based components, evaluate units, and integrate feedback.
• Be a flexible team player and collaborate with Kording Lab, Penn, and partners.
• Communicate effectively across teams and provide/receive constructive feedback.
• Support C4R in implementing its values across work and processes.
• Present C4R content to test audiences and travel to conferences (travel <10%).
