Job summary

Canon Medical Research USA, Inc. (CMRU) in Vernon Hills, IL, seeks a Senior CT Reconstruction Scientist to join our CT Business Unit and advance reconstruction algorithms, image quality optimization, and clinical workflows for next-generation CT platforms, including Photon Counting CT.

You will collaborate with a world-class team at the intersection of physics, mathematics, and AI, contributing to research, publications, and product development in a flexible hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in STEM fields required.
• Experience in tomographic image reconstruction, CT system modeling and data correction.
• Strong understanding of inverse problems, numerical methods, optimization, and statistical modeling.
• Experience with Photon Counting CT or spectral imaging preferred.
• Experience applying ML/AI to imaging applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced algorithms to enhance image quality and clinical workflows for existing CT products.
• Design and implement reconstruction and image processing algorithms for next-generation CT platforms.
• Develop, validate, and optimize X-ray physics and system models for CT imaging applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and commercialization.
• Partner with clinical application teams to evaluate image quality and clinical performance.
• Collaborate with academic and industry partners on cutting-edge research initiatives.
• Contribute to publications, patents, and the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in CT reconstruction, AI/ML, and medical imaging.
