Philips seeks a Research Scientist in Computed Tomography to advance image quality and physics-based corrections, leveraging photon counting and multi-energy CT concepts. You will apply system-level engineering to CT/X-ray imaging features, calibration, and CT reconstruction across the imaging chain, with emphasis on simulation tools and algorithm development.

You will work primarily in MATLAB, with growing Python and C++ usage, and collaborate across clinical, marketing, and systems teams.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of combined professional and graduate-level research experience in Physics/Medical Imaging (CT and/or X-ray preferred)
• Master’s in Physics, Mathematics, Biomedical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering (or related field)
• Background in theory of medical image formation and reconstruction (preferred)
• Expertise in CT/X-ray imaging, signal and image processing, CT reconstruction, calibration, and systems-level/scanner understanding
• Experience with photon counting and/or spectral CT (dual-/multi-energy imaging), cone beam CT, physics-based simulation, and hands-on prototype or scanner work
• Proficiency in MATLAB (primary), Python (increasing use), and C++ (preferred), including GUI and C-MEX, and familiarity with AI/deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to document and explain complex algorithms to non-specialists

Responsabilidades

• Develop physics-based solutions/corrections and support CT imaging platform needs by improving image quality
• Lead image quality improvements in CT by developing cutting edge photon counting systems
• Apply system-level engineering to develop CT/X-ray imaging features, focusing on signal and image processing, CT reconstruction, and calibration
• Develop and enhance R&D tools for physics-based simulation and image formation, including benchmarks and dataflow requirements
• Work primarily in MATLAB, with increasing use of Python and C++ for performance-critical components
• Communicate findings to stakeholders and contribute to IP and publications
• Travel up to 10% may be required
