Job summary

NYU Langone Health’s Senior Advanced Post Processing Imaging Specialist (FGP) in Radiology will manipulate digital radiographic data, mainly CT and MRI, using specialized software to provide visualization and quantitative analysis for diagnostic studies.

The role requires working with physicians, researchers, and staff to ensure accurate scheduling, billing, and HIPAA compliance, while advancing imaging capabilities through independent projects and collaborations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent.
• ARRT certification required.
• Advanced ARRT registration in CT or MRI required.

Responsibilities

• Operates post-processed images from CT, MRI, Angiography and other modality datasets for visualization of anatomy and pathology.
• Performs targeted views, manipulates image appearance and performs quantitative measurements.
• Evaluates quality and accuracy of source and post-processed images, including artifacts.
• Ensures images requiring post-processing are networked to appropriate workstations and PACS/archival systems timely.
• Collaborates with radiologists and physicians to ensure clinical value of post-processed images.
• Updates scheduling and billing records in the radiology information system indicating post-processing.
• Performs routine workflow and independent projects.
• Complies with health, safety and privacy regulations and NYULMC policies.
• Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions to lab/IT staff.
• Transfers post-processed images to hard copy when needed and tracks imaging reports.
• Redacts clinical/research data under HIPAA guidelines as necessary.
• Provides technical/educational consultation to researchers and educators.
• Assists with case preparation for publication.
• Works with industry partners to evaluate new hardware/software and supports demonstrations.
• Participates in instruction of clinicians learning advanced imaging applications.
