Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Crypto AML & Sanctions Advisor to provide risk-based guidance for our digital asset products. You will support the Crypto Compliance Officer and collaborate with Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Investigations to strengthen controls.

The role covers crypto trading, custody, wallets, and staking, requiring deep knowledge of AML/OFAC requirements and blockchain analytics. You will stay ahead of regulatory changes, participate in examinations, and help scale our crypto

Qualifications

8+ years in AML and financial crime compliance in crypto/digital assets.
Experience advising Crypto/Compliance teams on risk and controls.
Knowledge of crypto product risk, Travel Rule and screening.

Responsibilities

Provide SME guidance to Crypto Compliance Officer and teams on financial crime risks.
Advise on AML/sanctions controls across crypto lifecycle (trading, custody, wallets, staking).
Assess blockchain-specific risks and recommend appropriate KYT, screening, and escalation.
Collaborate with Compliance, Product, Engineering and Operations to implement controls.
Support policy development, risk assessments, and governance for crypto programs.
Stay informed on regulatory developments and industry best practices to mitigate risk.
Assist with regulatory exams, audits, issue management, and third-party risk for digital assets.
