Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Crypto AML & Sanctions Advisor to provide specialized financial crime compliance guidance for our digital asset products. You will partner with Crypto Compliance, Compliance, Product, Engineering, Investigations, and business leaders to assess crypto-related risks and implement controls across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in AML, sanctions, financial crime compliance, or related risk management.
• Strong knowledge of digital asset and blockchain products.
• Experience with crypto AML controls and transaction monitoring.
• Experience with blockchain analytics platforms such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic.
• Excellent communication across levels and stakeholders.
• Leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced regulatory and technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise to the Crypto Compliance Officer and cross-functional teams on financial crime risks and controls.
• Advise across crypto product lifecycle: trading, custody, wallets, staking, and related services.
• Assess blockchain-specific risks and advise on appropriate controls, including sanctions exposure and screening.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Operations to implement AML and sanctions controls.
• Help develop crypto AML/sanctions policies, risk assessments, monitoring controls, and governance frameworks.
• Stay informed of regulatory developments and industry best practices; recommend enhancements.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, testing, issue management, and third-party risk management for digital assets.
