Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer III to lead the fabrication, integration, and optimization of cryogenic fluid systems for our launch vehicles and test operations. You will translate complex requirements into manufacturable hardware and develop specialized fabrication processes.

The role emphasizes on‑floor support, design for manufacturability, quality control, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering field listed above.
• 5+ years in direct manufacturing/engineering in aerospace-related areas.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design and fluid systems, GD&T.
• Proficient with CAD tools and MS Office suite.
• Ability to build trust and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate drawings into cryogenic fluid systems hardware for test/flight.
• Create manufacturing BOMs and work instructions for precision components.
• Provide on-floor support for cryogenic systems integration.
• Perform design for manufacturability reviews focused on cryogenic performance.
• Develop build plans, duration estimates, tool lists for new products.
• Manage quality, build sequence, and schedules through manufacturing.
• Define repair/rework activities for cryogenic systems.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Develop processes compliant with AS9100 and cryogenic safety protocols.
