Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Mates for our U.S. flag fleet, operating across inland and coastal waterways including the East Coast and Great Lakes. Mates are senior shipboard officers reporting to the Captain and lead deck teams while developing piloting expertise on coastal and river routes.

We offer onboard accommodations, meals, and access to simulator-based training to maintain high safety and service standards for our guests.

Qualifications

• Coast Guard Mate license with 100 GRT and Near Coastal endorsement; 1,600 GRT preferred.
• TWIC required.
• Proven coastal/river pilot experience and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Operate vessel per company and regulatory standards.
• Supervise deck officers and daily deck operations.
• Oversee vessel cleaning, maintenance, and logistics.
• Lead crew orientation, training, watches, and drills.
