Job summary

Plains Commerce Bank, Inc. seeks a VP Crop Insurance to deepen agricultural relationships and attract new customers.

You will sell and service crop insurance products, including multi-peril crop insurance and revenue protection, to agricultural operations and associations in SD. The role requires strong sales, negotiation, and consultation skills; you will present policy options, customize coverage, and ensure compliance with Farm Bill requirements while supporting retention and growth of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Economics or related field is required.
• 5+ years agricultural insurance experience encouraged.
• Strong knowledge of crop insurance programs and regulations.
• Ability to explain coverage options clearly to clients.

Responsibilities

• Meet with agricultural operations to assess crop insurance needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with farmers, dairy operators and agri-businesses.
• Educate customers on crop insurance protections and options.
• Develop relationships with local agricultural associations and co-ops.
• Attend industry events to stay updated on best practices and regulations.
• Advise customers on policy options and premium rates.
• Ensure policy documentation and deadlines are met.
