Job summary

Salute in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a Critical Facility Engineer II to ensure reliability of data center infrastructure. You will monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions across electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems to keep mission-critical servers running smoothly.

On-site duties include preventive maintenance, incident response, work-order management, and coordinating with vendors and clients to support colocation and connectivity services.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in operation, installation and maintenance of data center critical equipment and building systems.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety and control systems.
• Knowledge of data center electrical/mechanical equipment and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems.
• Complete planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance tasks requiring coordination with multiple trades.
• Inspect building systems (HVAC, electrical distribution) and maintain clean, safe equipment rooms.
• Rapid response to indoor emergencies and air quality concerns.
• Create, close, and track work requests; manage work orders and confirm completion.
• Monitor contractor performance and recommend improvements.
• Support data center services, including colocation and connectivity for customers.
• Act as operational contact for data center clients, vendors, and carriers.
• Assist IT and network teams with infrastructure tasks in IT rooms and cabinets.
• Coordinate access with third-party contractors for cabling and equipment installs.
• Support offsite points-of-presence and overall infrastructure maintenance.
