Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Statistics, or closely related field.
• Extensive (5+) years conducting research, data collection, and statistical analysis in relevant settings.
• Good (1–3) years lead or supervisory experience.
• Background check required due to sensitive information handling.
• Analyst certification from IACA or IALEIA within one year of hire/promotion date.
• Substance abuse testing as per city policy.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and participate in Crime Analysis Unit activities.
• Train Crime Analysts in essential functions, processes, and procedures.
• Interview, hire, counsel, and discipline staff; complete performance appraisals.
• Oversee scheduling and prioritization of work assignments; ensure compliance with procedures.
• Prepare, analyze, and share complex crime, intelligence, and report trends.
• Guide usage of crime analysis products to combat crime and standardize practices.
• Interact with Police leadership on policy development.
