Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Crime Intelligence Analyst Supervisor to lead the crime analysis unit within the Police Department. You will supervise, plan, and coordinate research, analysis, and information products for stakeholders including City departments and Council.

This role requires advanced analytical skills and supervisory experience, with the ability to communicate findings clearly through reports and presentations to sworn and professional staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Science, or related field with five years of research/analysis experience.
• Master's degree can substitute for up to two years of experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, plan, and coordinate analytical assignments for the crime analysis unit.
• Oversee complex information requests from stakeholders (City Council, City departments).
• Provide analytical support for public safety during critical events outside normal hours.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures for the unit.
