Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Audio Visual Control Systems Programmer to join the Liberal Arts instructional technology team. On-campus role with no travel outside the Austin metro area, focusing on developing, debugging, and maintaining Crestron control systems and GUIs across campus.

You will mentor others, collaborate with installation staff and clients, and provide advanced technical support to ensure reliable AV performance in learning spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Crestron development tools and programming languages.
• Experience designing Crestron GUIs for end users.
• Ability to diagnose and test complex AV systems.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts and AV-over-IP.
• Ability to read AV drawings and technical docs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create control system programming designs to meet requirements and capabilities.
• Read and interpret AV system drawings.
• Gather programming requirements and produce new modules.
• Create user interface programming meeting requirements.
• Install control programs and touch panels on site and remotely.
• Mentor junior AV Systems programmers.
• Develop systems with STAs using modern languages/frameworks.
• Maintain enterprise tools and asset management systems.
• Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of code.
• Test integrated systems and troubleshoot as needed.
• Demonstrate completed systems to clients.
• Create programming documentation and maintain code in repos.
