Job summary

Bank of America seeks an Underwriter for the Global Commercial Banking credit team in the Tampa area, covering Orlando and Jacksonville markets. You will underwrite loans and monitor credit exposure for middle‑market clients with revenues from $50M to $2B, collaborating with Relationship Management and product teams.

You will structure complex debt solutions, perform cash flow modeling, and ensure compliance with policies while presenting credit opportunities to leadership.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• 3 to 10 years of Commercial Banking underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Solid foundation in credit analysis, including evaluation of business risk, industry trends and capital structures.
• Understanding of credit documentation, including term sheets, credit agreements and ancillary agreements (security, guarantee and intercreditor agreements).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Unwavering attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple transactions and responsibilities at a time.

Responsibilities

• Partner with credit teammates, relationship management and product teams to develop strategic debt financing solutions.
• Employ credit and accounting knowledge to structure bilateral and syndicated loans aligned with client needs and bank risk parameters.
• Analyze ancillary credit exposure for treasury, rates and foreign exchange products.
• Perform due diligence and dynamic risk assessments of borrowers, industries and transactions.
• Create credit approval packages and own the credit approval process from initiation through final decision.
• Construct detailed financial cash flow and repayment models, including sensitivity analyses.
• Complete enterprise value (discounted cash flow), pricing, returns and risk rating models.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies and procedures.
• Exercise approval authority for certain credit actions.
• Present well supported opportunities to credit and risk leadership.
• Partner with internal and external legal partners to complete loan documentation.
• Oversee quarterly monitoring exercises and requirements.
