Job summary

Boise Cascade seeks a Credit Manager to oversee company-wide credit operations, assess risk, set limits, and monitor aging and DSO. You will work with Sales, Legal, and Purchasing to balance revenue growth with credit risk and ensure compliance.

You lead regional credit managers, enforce policies, manage collections, and support risk mitigation with a focus on audit-ready documentation and process improvements.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 10+ years in credit management within building materials preferred.
• Advanced degree and CRM or branch/location experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate creditworthiness of customers using financial data and references.
• Establish and adjust customer credit limits based on risk.
• Conduct periodic reviews of high-exposure accounts and shifting risk profiles.
• Enforce division credit policies, controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging, DSO, and overall portfolio health.
• Identify deteriorating accounts and implement risk-mitigation strategies.
• Oversee collections escalations and approve plans, settlements, or write-offs.
• Manage credit insurance decisions and relationships with agencies.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal and Purchasing on contracts and credit docs.
• Lead regional credit managers, set performance expectations and develop team.
• Commit to safety, quality, environmental awareness and process improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

College degree or equivalent experience

Advanced degree (preferred)

10+ years in credit management (preferred)
