Job summary

The Northern Trust is seeking a Sr. Credit Portfolio Manager to manage credit risk and profitability for a client portfolio. The role supports Relationship Managers with financial analysis, credit underwriting, and monitoring loan quality while coordinating with legal and governance processes.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting and investments to analyze and evaluate financial statements.
• Knowledge of applicable industry laws and regulations to review credit risk.
• Analytical and communication skills to determine credit risk and prepare presentations.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial modeling to support loan decisions.
• Experience: 5-7 years in financial and/or credit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage credit product risk and profitability for a portfolio of credit clients.
• Support Relationship Managers through financial/credit analysis and underwriting.
• Research financial statements and investment holdings.
• Evaluate liquidity, collateral, and creditworthiness of portfolios and statements.
• Prepare and present written credit memoranda for approval.
• Coordinate legal documentation with Banking Advisors and Relationship Managers.
• Monitor client loan portfolios and update credit quality for governance.
• Travel to client locations and participate in virtual meetings.
• Mentor Rotational Development Program Partners and junior CPMs.
