TITLE : Senior Credit Manager, Corporate Risk
LOCATION: New York, NY
DUTIES: Appraise and contribute to the development of Standard Chartered Bank's strategic plans and alignment with risk appetite and risk tolerance through active participation in the various committees and forums. Align strategy of CIB with business strategy and risk appetite and tolerance and oversee its execution. Identify, measure, and monitor material risk affecting the CIB portfolios in the context of the external market environment. Ensure that the quality of Business Credit Applications (BCAs) and Group Mandates (GMs) meets Group standards, particularly with regards to the completeness and depth of risk analysis. Approve BCAs/GMs that fall within delegated authorities and review/support BCAs/GMs that require the approval of more senior credit officers, where appropriate. Ensure effective management of the operational risks within the Function and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations. Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Function’s risk management processes. Initiate stress tests as required by internal and external factors and review results and assess their implications. Proactively manage the Portfolio, ensuring accounts that exhibit deteriorating credit profiles are identified early and escalated to management via the Early Alert (EA) Process and in need work closely with Group Special Asset Management (GSAM) to reduce and mitigate risk to avoid credit losses. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Standard Chartered Bank policy.
REQTS : Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field and ten (10) years of finance industry experience in the job offered or in a related position. Must have ten (10) years of experience with: Analyzing Business Credit Applications and Group Mandates, and ensuring credit facilities and applications are in compliance with credit policies, underwriting standard, and portfolio guideline; Evaluating the credit risk profile of the Corporate portfolio in at least one industry, such as Consumer, Healthcare, or Industrials; Escalating concerns through the Early Alert Process/Watch List accounts; Reviewing financial projections and stress test to validate repayment capacity of the borrower; Strong analytical capacity to summarize the credit analysis into a summary document; Reviewing historical financial information to identify trends that can become potential credit issues; Experience in Investment Grade (IG) and non-IG credit profiles; Assessing appropriateness and structure risk of trade, derivative and lending transaction, as well as bespoke transaction; Assessing impacts of macroeconomic and geopolitical events on corporate portfolio.
SALARY: $200,000 - $230,000/year
HOURS : Full time; Mon – Fri (40 hours per week) EOE.
