Lonestar Electric Supply and its subsidiaries are seeking a skilled and highly experienced Senior Credit Manager to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Credit, this role will be crucial in managing and overseeing credit and collections associates and activities and ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing collections and a proven track record of overseeing credit managers to achieve financial targets.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the evaluation and approval of credit applications and credit lines for new and existing customers.
  • Establish and enforce credit policies and procedures.
  • Monitor credit limits and terms for customers to mitigate financial risk.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of credit managers in their daily collections’ activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve collections and reduce delinquency rates.
  • Ensure timely collection of outstanding accounts and resolve any payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, particularly general contractors, to ensure effective communication and payment processes.
  • Address and resolve customer queries and disputes related to credit and collections.
  • Prepare and present regular reporting on credit and collections performance.
  • Analyze trends and identify areas for improvement in credit and collections processes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding credit and collections.
  • Implement risk management strategies to protect the company's financial interests.
  • Make outcalls with credit managers and salesmen on an as needed basis.
  • Other obligations as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in credit and collections management, preferably within the electrical supply industry.
  • Proven experience managing collections for customers in the commercial/industrial/EPC/OEM markets.
  • Experience overseeing and developing a team of credit managers.
  • Strong understanding of credit and collections principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Other degrees or relevant experience will be considered as well.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required infrequently.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
