Qualifications

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years related experience required
• Knowledge of credit and financial analysis techniques
• Strong understanding of loan risk factors
• Ability to independently gather, consolidate, analyze and summarize data for commercial credit recommendations
• Ability to identify and quantify business risks and key risk drivers
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
• Ability to defend analytical decisions at all levels of conversation

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth industry and financial analysis of borrowers
• Underwrite complex loans and industries independently
• Prepare timely approval memorandums for lending and credit authorities
• Identify trends, measure performance, assess financial strength and credit risk
• Maintain credit files and monitor updated financial statements and interim trends
• May train, mentor, and coach junior analysts
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements
• Identify deviations from Commercial Loan Policy and recommend alternative structures to reduce credit risk
• Achieve operational performance standards for quality and timeliness
