Job summary

First Horizon Bank is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to provide high-level analytical support for underwriting commercial credit facilities and assist Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers in managing client relationships. The role includes mentoring junior analysts and ensuring adherence to lending guidelines and underwriting standards.

The candidate will analyze financial statements, monitor covenants, and participate in internal and external meetings to support lending decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of related experience in Financial Services, Banking, Credit Analysis, Loan Review or similar background preferred.
• Familiarity with corporate credit products and processes used to analyze financial data.
• Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; Salesforce/nCino a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret financial statements and provide analysis for underwriting complex C&I loans, focusing on Medical Practices, service companies, and private client ventures.
• Perform financial statement spreading, create/update requests, modifications, renewals and annual reviews in the loan system; monitor covenants and industry research.
• Participate in transaction structuring and relationship strategy meetings; justify information in analysis when warranted.
• Prepare complex credit approval documentation with accurate terms, collateral, covenants, and credit exposure inputs.
• Monitor assigned commercial loan portfolios with PMs, track covenants and company performance; implement policies and procedures.
