Job summary

Excel Partners, Inc. in Stamford, CT is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to join our Credit Administration team. The role involves underwriting commercial loans, analyzing financial statements, and preparing quarterly reports while mentoring junior staff.

Onsite work hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday, in Stamford. Collaborate with Business Banking Loan Officers and Portfolio Managers to support credit risk administration and underwriting functions across CRE, C&I, and construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
• 2-8 years of commercial credit analysis experience, including construction lending and workouts.
• Formal credit training, including global cash flow analysis.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and risk-rate CRE, C&I, and construction loans with minimal supervision.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, global cash flow, and debt service capacity; identify key risks and mitigants.
• Evaluate collateral, determine LTV and advance rates, and recommend loan structures and covenants.
• Prepare credit memos for approval, including at the Board level.
• Gather due diligence from borrowers, appraisers, and other third parties; attend site visits as needed.
• Manage a loan portfolio for annual reviews, covenant compliance, and renewals; upscale deteriorating credits.
• Mentor junior analysts.
