About the Role

The Senior Creative Director is responsible for overseeing omnichannel brand visual creative across marketing programs and channels, elevating and maintaining a standard of excellence in brand visual creative.

This leader will develop omnichannel brand visual strategies for seasonal campaigns and new programs, oversee art direction, design, and styling of all visual creative, inspire, mentor, and coach designers, art directors, and stylists. They will conceptualize seasonal campaigns and marketing programs, collaborate with creative teams to create a holistic brand experience, and work with strategic agency partners.

The Senior Creative Director will lead a team of art directors, graphic designers, and stylists across various mediums. They will work closely with Marketing and Creative leadership to develop and execute omnichannel brand visuals for seasonal marketing initiatives, campaigns, activations, and events.

What You'll Do
  1. Lead strategic omnichannel brand marketing campaign concepts to deliver creative solutions aligned with business objectives.
  2. Develop positioning and visual strategies for seasonal campaigns, marketing programs, retail, activations, events, and branded content.
  3. Collaborate with the brand creative and marketing teams to craft a comprehensive 360 customer brand experience, emphasizing customer-focused innovation and brand affinity.
  4. Manage multiple projects across digital, retail, and print channels, motivating teams of visual creatives and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  5. Delegate tasks effectively, monitor team capacity, identify synergies, and foster teamwork.
  6. Guide the creative process to build concept boards, photo briefs, and design assets; oversee photoshoots and art direction at a high level.
  7. Ensure design and styling solutions reflect the Athleta Brand World and elevate brand identity.
  8. Present creative concepts to senior leaders, gather feedback, and secure necessary resources.

Additional Responsibility:

  • Manage strategic agency partners to ensure the Athleta Brand World is consistently represented and reinforced.
Who You Are
  • 15+ years of art or creative direction experience, including team management.
  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design or Communication Design preferred.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, MS Office, and MIRO.
  • Experience in conceptualizing, designing, and art directing campaigns across marketing channels, with deep knowledge of photography and videography.
  • Passionate about wellbeing, fashion, and lifestyle retail, with awareness of current industry trends.
  • Goal-oriented with proven success in managing ambiguity and change in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong strategic, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, capable of synthesizing information and building consensus.
  • Experience in planning, executing projects, managing budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and motivate large, diverse teams.
  • Excellent relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
