Job summary

Confidential Employer in Newark, NJ seeks a seasoned real estate attorney to represent clients in acquisitions, dispositions, and financing. You will draft, negotiate, and close sophisticated transactions, leading due diligence and coordinating with lenders, brokers, and clients.

The role requires 6+ years of CRE transactional experience with strong drafting and negotiation skills, plus the ability to independently close transactions in a fast-paced private practice setting.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Bar license is required.
• 6+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience; 7+ years preferred.
• Experience across purchase & sale, leasing, and finance matters.
• Ability to independently handle a commercial real estate closing.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience in a private practice law firm environment preferred.
• Strong client-service orientation and ability to work in a high-volume transactional practice.
• In-house or solo practice experience may be considered for depth and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in sophisticated commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements and related documents.
• Handle commercial leasing matters for landlords and tenants.
• Represent borrowers and lenders in real estate financing transactions.
• Lead and oversee due diligence, documentation, and closings.
• Independently manage commercial real estate closings from start to finish.
• Work directly with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, brokers, and others.
• Manage multiple transactions with attention to detail and responsiveness.
• Deliver high-volume, high-quality written work product on time.
• Contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial practice with meaningful client responsibility.
