Job summary

Engg is seeking a Senior CPU Architecture & Performance Engineer to lead microarchitectural research for next-generation CPU architectures. You will analyze workloads, refine performance models, and work with RTL teams to translate ideas into RTL and silicon validation.

The role emphasizes ownership across the design spectrum, from modeling to silicon validation, with opportunities to contribute to patents and technical publications.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Architecture or related field.
• 3+ years in CPU microarchitecture or performance engineering.
• Strong understanding of out-of-order execution, branch prediction, pipelines, and memory systems.

Responsibilities

• Own a microarchitectural domain from idea proposal through implementation and validation.
• Collaborate with RTL design teams to evaluate and implement ideas from modeling to silicon validation.
• Run architectural simulations and performance models; analyze IPC, CPI stacks, latency, throughput.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities across front-end to back-end.
• Characterize workloads/benchmarks to guide architectural opportunities.
• Develop scripts/tools to automate performance analysis and exploration.
