Job summary

Pacific County, Washington, is seeking a County Engineer to oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of county roads and related infrastructure. The role reports to the Public Works Director and collaborates with the Board of County Commissioners.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Washington State PE license (or ability to obtain within six months). Strong leadership and program development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
• Current Washington State Professional Engineer license in Civil Engineering or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• County may consider any combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer, and coordinate engineering and related activities for county roads.
• Review and approve engineering plans and specifications.
• Develop annual and six-year road programs with the Public Works Director and Board of County Commissioners.
• Provide technical guidance to County and departmental matters.
• Supervise staff, support employee development, and promote teamwork.
