Job summary

Tulsa County is seeking a Director to oversee the Development Services Department, guiding planning, permitting, and inspections. You will set goals, policies, and budgets, representing the department to officials and the public.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong management of staff across divisions, and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations. A master’s degree or AICP is preferred, with extensive urban planning experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration, Geography, or a closely related field.
• Master's degree and/or AICP certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience in planning or development services with leadership/supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the Planning and Development Services Department's operations and services.
• Prepare planning documents, reports, and recommendations for Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment.
• Coordinate interdepartmental and intergovernmental projects and manage department budget.
