Job summary

Citrus County Government in Florida seeks a County Engineer to serve as the professional engineering authority, overseeing planning, design, permitting, acquisition, and construction of transportation and stormwater capital projects. The role requires technical leadership, contract administration, and coordination with state and regional partners.

You will direct major projects such as highways, bridges, signalization, and multi-use paths; manage staff and consultants; prepare budgets and CIP

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; 8+ years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience focused on transportation and stormwater infrastructure.
Experience managing design, permitting, acquisition, and construction of major transportation roadway projects.
P.E. licensure in Florida required; PTOE preferred; FEMA NIMS certifications may be pursued within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering design, analysis, calculations, reports, and reviews for County transportation and stormwater projects.
Direct planning, design, permitting, and construction of major capital transportation projects and drainage improvements.
Oversee budgets, CIP planning, records, and cost accounting; supervise staff and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
