County Of Redwood in Redwood Falls, MN seeks an experienced Assistant County Attorney to conduct criminal prosecutions from charging through sentencing. The role collaborates with the County Attorney and other departments on civil, human services, planning, tax, probate and other matters.

Required JD, Minnesota license, and strong knowledge of criminal and civil law. The position offers full-time work with day shifts and a comprehensive set of responsibilities within the County Attorney’s Office.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree.
• A license to practice law in the State of Minnesota and member in good standing of the State Bar.
• Considerable knowledge of County ordinances and state/federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Represents Redwood County in District Court at arraignments, pre-trials, hearings, and trials.
• Drafts letters, complaints, petitions, briefs, motions and other legal documents.
• Conducts legal research and advises the County Attorney, Board of Commissioners and agencies.
• Coordinates with probation agents and caseworkers; ensures confidentiality and data practices compliance.
• Performs related administrative tasks and represents the county in civil matters as assigned.
