Job summary

Honeywell is seeking an Assistant General Counsel in Washington, DC or Charlotte, NC for its sanctions compliance program. You will advise on OFAC and AML regulations, shape policy, and support international business growth in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires a JD with 6+ years in a law department or similar, strong IT/digital systems knowledge (SAP, GTS, Salesforce), and exceptional communication skills. Competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• JD with significant sanctions/AML experience.
• Minimum 6 years in a law department, multinational company, law firm or government agency.
• Experience with U.S. sanctions laws and AML regulations.
• Knowledge of Compliance IT and digital systems (ERP, SAP, GTS, Salesforce).
• Excellent communication skills; integrity and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, evaluate, and manage sanctions and AML risks to enable sustainable growth.
• Advise on higher risk transactions and prepare/submit licenses as needed.
• Enhance trade controls, policies, procedures, and screening protocols for compliance.
• Stay updated on trade laws and regulatory announcements; assess business impacts.
• Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with outside counsel and vendors.
• Assist in testing and audits of the sanctions and AML program and risk assessments.
• Develop trainings on sanctions and AML issues for internal stakeholders; support investigations.
