Job summary

Honeywell seeks a General Counsel for Sanctions Compliance to lead regulatory strategy and ensure a robust sanctions program. The role partners with AML, Export, and CFIUS teams to guide international growth while maintaining compliance with OFAC and related rules.

The position is hybrid with offices in Washington, DC or Charlotte, NC, reporting to the VP and General Counsel, Regulatory. Requires JD and 8+ years in a law function.

Qualifications

• JD required and 8+ years in a law department or equivalent
• Experience with U.S. sanctions laws and AML regulations
• Knowledge of Compliance IT and digital systems
• Strong communication and ethical standards

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage sanctions and AML risks to enable sustainable growth
• Advise on high-risk transactions and licenses
• Enhance trade controls, screening protocols, and regulatory alignment
• Stay updated on trade laws and communicate business impact
• Lead and collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel
• Assist in testing, audits, and risk assessments
• Develop trainings on sanctions and AML issues
• Support investigations into compliance matters
