Job summary

Tyson & Mendes seeks an experienced Senior Counsel for our Los Angeles Medical Malpractice team. With 8+ years in litigation, you will own sophisticated matters, work directly with clients and move cases toward resolution or trial.

You will join a team led by a renowned litigator and enjoy flexibility as our LA practice operates primarily remotely with on-site court appearances as needed.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA approved law school.
• Licensed to practice in California.
• 8+ years of solid litigation experience.
• 3+ years of medical malpractice exposure.
• Experience with insurance defense preferred.
• Ability to manage full case handling incl. discovery and trial.
• Strong written and verbal communication; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Develop a compelling case theme for each matter.
• Take and defend depositions; manage court appearances.
• Develop and execute case strategy with clients and experts.
• Lead and mentor less experienced attorneys.
• Coordinate with carriers and clients on strategy and updates.
• Drive cases toward resolution or trial while meeting deadlines.
• Collaborate with the team to manage a sophisticated caseload.
