Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a Senior Counsel in California to lead general liability insurance defense and insurance coverage matters. Active CA bar is required; 8+ years of experience with defense litigation and leadership are expected.

The role supports a flexible work model with remote, hybrid, or onsite options. You will manage high-exposure cases, mentor junior attorneys, and collaborate across national teams to drive results for clients.

Qualifications

• Active California bar license required.
• 8+ years of solid litigation experience in general liability insurance defense and insurance coverage matters.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Ability to manage full case responsibilities, including discovery and trial.
• Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written).

Responsabilités

• Develop compelling case themes and strategies.
• Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.
• Lead and mentor junior attorneys; collaborate with attorneys at all levels.
• Maintain routine communications with clients and cultivate relationships.
• Support senior leadership with strategic defense and case management.
