Job summary

Versant Media, LLC seeks a thoughtful and practical Senior Counsel to join its corporate Privacy Legal team. You will provide product, privacy, and data protection advice across Versant's global businesses, collaborating with Product, Technology, Data, Advertising, Marketing, and Security teams.

You will translate legal requirements into workable business decisions, help manage risk, and support commercial negotiations while scaling the legal function across a growing organization.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 7+ years of relevant legal experience counseling on product, technology, privacy and related matters.
• Ability to provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders at all levels and take ownership.
• Willingness to dig into technology, products, data flows, and new subject matter.

Responsibilities

• Provide product counseling across the lifecycle with cross-functional teams.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, consumer protection, AI, marketing and related laws.
• Translate legal requirements into practical business decisions and risk solutions.
• Support commercial matters by reviewing and negotiating data, privacy, and terms.
• Develop playbooks, training, and processes to scale legal support.
• Monitor legal and tech developments to adapt guidance as products evolve.
