Job summary

Pye Legal Group is seeking a Senior Counsel to join an in-house team supporting a global engineering and construction client in Houston. You will lead procurement, supply chain, and commercial contracting efforts across complex projects.

The role requires a J.D. and 7+ years of transactional experience, including in-house work, with strong negotiation and communication skills. Relocation assistance is available for the ideal candidate.

Qualifications

• J.D. and 7+ years of transactional experience, including in-house counsel.
• Strong background in procurement, supply chain, commercial contracting, or construction law.
• Experience negotiating vendor, contractor/subcontractor, EPC, design-build, technology, and consulting agreements.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements regarding procurement, supply chain, vendor, services, IT, and consulting agreements.
• Contracts may include: purchase orders, contractor/subcontractor, NDAs, leasing, technology hardware/software, SaaS, EULAs, IP licensing, etc.
• Support the projects and business teams on commercial and construction-related contracts, including EPC and Design-Build agreements
• Advise on contract structure, minimizing risk, insurance, indemnification, payment terms, and change orders
• Develop contract templates, processes, and best practices
• Manage and train the junior level attorneys and paralegals on the team
