AbbVie is seeking a Senior Counsel for Operations and Pharmacy Legal to partner with cross-functional teams on regulatory, commercial, and operational matters in the United States.

You will advise on pharmacy regulations, licensing, controlled substances, and complex contracts, shaping decisions that support patient access and business growth while ensuring compliance and risk management.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice in the job location.
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant in-house or life sciences/healthcare regulatory experience.
• Experience advising on pharmacy-related legal matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive counsel on commercial, regulatory, and operational issues affecting pharmaceutical/healthcare activities.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Advise onsite specialty pharmacy teams on federal and state pharmacy laws, including DEA and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Support licensure, permits, renewals, and compliance audits; coordinate with Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, policies, and training materials reflecting current legal requirements.
