Job summary

Meals on Wheels America seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide a broad range of legal services to the CEO, executive team and board, including contracts, labor and employment, IP, privacy, regulatory and nonprofit governance. The role supports the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and oversees outside counsel in a hybrid Arlington, VA setting.

The position requires 8+ years of experience, a JD, and DC/VA bar eligibility, with strong writing, negotiation, and governance expertise to

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar admission in DC or VA, or ability to waive into those bars.
• 8+ years of broad-based attorney experience, preferably in nonprofit or governance work.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad legal services to the CEO, executive team and the Board as needed.
• Draft, analyze and edit contracts including governance, fundraising and partner agreements.
• Advise on labor and employment matters and HR-related compliance.
• Represent the Association in legal matters and oversee outside counsel.
• Manage information security, privacy law, and data protection risk with C-suite support.
• Support enterprise compliance programs, audits and regulatory filings.
