Job summary

Travelers in New Orleans seeks an Associate Senior Counsel to handle a caseload of predominantly moderate to high exposure insurance defense matters, including Major Case litigation depending on line of business. You will apply trial experience to cases and deliver high-quality client service.

You will mentor less experienced attorneys, collaborate with experts, and use our case management tools to drive results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Proven track record of trying cases to a jury with successful outcomes.
• Strong ability to communicate complex litigated matters clearly.

Responsibilities

• Leverage pre-trial and trial experience to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolution.
• Conduct proficient legal research and persuasive writing and presentation skills.
• Draft substantive pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other legal documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and other appointments independently.
• Provide in-depth case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses to develop case strategies and testimony.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
