Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Counsel to independently manage high-exposure insurance defense litigation, including Major Case and Complex Claim matters. You will leverage trial experience, conduct advanced research, draft substantive pleadings, and mentor junior attorneys while building client relationships and coordinating with claim partners.

The role requires 7+ years of defense litigation experience, strong advocacy, and leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Advanced advocacy with jury trials and appellate success.
• Strong ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle a caseload of higher exposure cases and complex litigation.
• Leverage litigation skills to try cases or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct advanced legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
• Attend court events, depositions, and meetings.
• Provide case analysis and strategic recommendations to insured clients and partners.
