Job summary

Verily Health is seeking a Counsel, Healthcare & Privacy to serve as a broad-based legal advisor across our provider-facing healthcare business, with deep privacy expertise. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, this role partners with product, engineering, and compliance teams to navigate HIPAA, GDPR, and evolving privacy laws while helping build compliant, innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a JD with bar admission, 6+ years of relevant experience in healthcare regulatory

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 6+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house healthcare setting.
• Experience advising on provider-side healthcare regulatory and compliance matters.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA and state privacy laws (e.g., CPRA/CCPA).

Responsibilities

• Privacy program advisory and improving privacy programs across global markets.
• Advise on healthcare regulatory issues in negotiations and contracts with health systems and payors.
• Assist compliance on scope-of-practice, fraud & abuse, and marketing practices.
• Partner with the data security team on incident management and regulator inquiries.
