Job summary

Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B) is seeking an in-house counsel to provide comprehensive legal services to the company, with focus on DOE prime contracts, government procurement, labor and employment law, and environmental regulatory compliance. This role reports to the General Counsel and may serve as Ethics Officer or Privacy Officer as designated.

You will guide senior management on risk-based strategies, draft and review contracts, support HR investigations, and coordinate with DOE

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active NM State Bar membership.
• At least 3 years of experience as a senior attorney for a DOE contractor.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience with federal procurement law (FAR/DEAR) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to senior management on DOE prime contracts and related matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and regulatory submissions.
• Advise on labor and employment issues including investigations and disciplinary matters.
• Coordinate with external counsel and manage legal budgets.
• Advise on environmental regulatory compliance for legacy cleanup.
• Represent the company in regulatory and administrative matters as needed.
