Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel, Music to support global music initiatives. Based in Santa Monica, CA or New York, NY, you will structure, draft, negotiate, and interpret complex agreements with labels, publishers, PROs, CMOs, and other rights holders worldwide.

You will advise cross‑functional teams on music rights, copyright, and AI issues, help develop policies, mentor junior lawyers, and drive strategic deals that advance Snap’s products and services.

Qualifications

J.D. degree from a US law school.
Active membership in a United States state bar.
8+ years of relevant legal experience in media/technology/music.
Significant experience negotiating complex music licensing or publishing agreements.

Responsibilities

Lead Snap’s legal strategy for global music licensing and partnerships with labels, publishers, CMOs, PROs, and other rights holders.
Advise Music Partnerships and senior leaders on deal strategy and commercial terms.
Counsel Product, Engineering, and other teams on music rights, copyright, and product implications.
Advise on generative AI and evolving technology issues involving music copyright law.
Develop practical copyright compliance and risk‑mitigation measures across Snap’s products.
