Job summary

Remitly is seeking a Senior Counsel, New Product Initiatives to guide legal strategy for cross-border and consumer fintech products. Based in Seattle or Arlington, VA, this hybrid role partners with product, engineering, compliance, and marketing to navigate complex regulatory regimes.

You will craft scalable guidance as Remitly expands globally, advise on new product launches, and help shape a world-class legal function.

Qualifications

• J.D. or equivalent with good standing.
• 6+ years of experience in fintech or financial services law.
• Experience advising cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of prepaid or stored value, payments, and money movement laws.
• Understanding of Bank Secrecy Act AML regulations is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide complex legal advice for new product initiatives.
• Support development and launch of global fintech products.
• Advise product, engineering, compliance and marketing teams on legal requirements.
• Identify risks and propose mitigations.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and regulatory interactions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial services regulations.
