Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead federal technology and government contract matters, advising business, technology, sales, and executive teams on the full federal acquisition lifecycle.

You will draft and negotiate federal contracts, support proposals, address licensing, IP, data rights, and cybersecurity requirements, and help shape internal compliance programs. This is a high-impact, full-time role based in Washington, DC or San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active law license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 8+ years of legal experience with U.S. federal government contracting
• Strong working knowledge of FAR and related agency supplements
• Experience with technology transactions for federal agencies (software, SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, data)

Responsibilities

• Advise on federal acquisition laws, regulations, and contracting practices
• Draft, review, and negotiate federal contracts, subcontracts, teaming and licensing agreements
• Support proposal development and risk identification
• Provide counsel on technology licensing, IP, data rights, and cybersecurity requirements
• Monitor regulatory developments and guide internal compliance programs
• Develop contracting playbooks, templates, and risk‑management procedures
