Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks a Senior Counsel, Legal & Enterprise Risk to lead and strengthen the firmwide approach to contractual, employment, and enterprise risk. The role partners closely with the COO and senior leadership, HR, Finance, and regional teams to provide practical risk mitigation and strategic guidance across contracts, personnel, and project delivery.

Qualifications

Proven ability to lead enterprise risk management programs.
Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and regulatory requirements.
Experience with contracts, NDAs, and risk-transfer provisions.

Responsibilities

Lead and strengthen ESA's firmwide risk-management program.
Provide employment-law guidance to HR and leadership on federal/state requirements.
Review, draft, and negotiate client and subconsultant agreements with risk mitigation in mind.
Oversee outside counsel and insurance partners; manage litigation support and risk-related expenditures.
Support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth through due diligence and risk assessment.
Advise leadership with clear, actionable risk analyses and mitigation options.
