Job summary

Enel North America, Inc. seeks an experienced General Counsel to support the Energy Management and Commodities Trading teams in Houston. This role provides strategic legal guidance on energy trading contracts, regulatory compliance, and complex commercial transactions.

The ideal candidate has a JD with 5+ years in energy trading transactions and strong knowledge of FERC/RTO rules, offering leadership in corporate law and risk management within a fast-paced, multinational energy company.

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required.
At least 5 years of legal experience in transactions with emphasis on energy trading.
Strong knowledge of FERC and RTO rules and requirements.
Excellent business judgment and ability to provide strategic legal advice.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and commercial legal advice on energy trading matters.
Draft and negotiate PPAs, ISDA, and gas trading agreements.
Oversee regulatory investigations and claims related to the energy trading business.
Counsel on corporate law, compliance, and risk management; interpret legal requirements.
Lead preventive legal strategies to minimize disputes and liability.
